 In accordance with the principles of Sustainable Development, we feel fully responsible for the impact of our company on the natural environment. Our plant borders on the center of a big city on one side and nature reserves on the other. We treat this as an additional obligation. Our production process is very tightly controlled. ArcelorMittal Warszawa plant meets all legal requirements related to the environment protection. In the last decade we modernized our technologies in order to lower production costs and to minimize the company's impact on the environment.
Our efforts related to the environment protection have given the following results as per production unit:

reduction in dust emission by 89,3 %

reduction in gas emission by 63,4 %

reduction in water consumption by 70,2 %

reduction in electricity consumption by 52,3 %

reduction in earth gas consumption by 58,5 %
In addition to that, we also recycle our waste: smelter slag is processed into aggregate used in road construction, while dusts are used to produce cement. Our attitude in this respect is best reflected in the Quality and Environment Policy.
Our achievements have been appreciated by independent experts. In 2007 we were granted a certificate of conformity of the plant's environment management system with the requirements of ISO 14001.
